Pacific West Bank Partners with Amazing Workplace to Prioritize Employee Happiness

Pacific West Bank’s recently completed an Employee Happiness® Conversation reveals employee happiness levels 30% above the national average.

Pacific West Bank, a trusted banking partner in the Greater Portland Area, recently completed an Employee Happiness® Conversation with Amazing Workplace. The results were strong: 95% of employees participated—far exceeding typical response rates—and 76% reported feeling happy or very happy at work. These levels of employee happiness are more than 30% higher than average US workplaces.

Founded in 2004 by local business owners who wanted a more client-focused banking experience, Pacific West Bank still operates on that principle today. The bank empowers its employees to make decisions, balance innovation and risk, and treat clients’ businesses as their own.

One employee shared, “I’m amazed at how our bank prioritizes both physical and psychological safety—it creates a real sense of belonging.” Another noted, “I look forward to coming to work and collaborating with my team to help clients. We’re a good team.”

Recognizing that happiness is an ongoing effort, Pacific West Bank has developed a 2025 Action Plan focused on continuous improvement. As they serve businesses, nonprofits, and individuals across the region, the bank’s commitment to a workplace culture built on trust and support remains at the center of everything they do.
