Connecting with Employees to Improve Community Healthcare

Garnet Health provides healthcare to more than 500,000 residents in the Mid-Hudson and Catskills region of New York. Its three medical centers and numerous other facilities provide specialty services, medical programs, and necessary healthcare services that allow residents to remain close to home to receive quality care. It’s an organization rooted in the community it serves.

Leadership at Garnet Health has long seen that it’s their employees that make quality, community healthcare possible. They want to leverage employees’ input when making decisions and sustaining a great workplace, but it’s a challenge. While Garnet Health has sought feedback from employees before, they needed a better way to gather it. Typical employee surveys didn’t produce detailed or accurate feedback, and busy healthcare employees don’t want to feel like their time is wasted with an activity that feels like more paperwork — they have patients to help!

Eventually, Garnet Health found Amazing Workplace. Unlike traditional methods, Amazing Workplace uses a conversation-based approach to understand employee sentiment in a meaningful way. The Amazing Workplace Happiness Conversation felt more natural, approachable, and efficient than traditional surveys. What’s more, Amazing Workplace offered smart customization for the Conversation experience to create the best fit for Garnet Health and the healthcare space.

Starting the (Happiness) Conversation

Garnet Health has introduced Amazing Workplace to their teams, and as they countdown to launch, leaders are excited to offer their people a better way to communicate upward. Through the Conversation, employees will be able to share their feelings and feedback about the workplace topics that matter to them, all with results recorded anonymously and kept confidential.

Following the Happiness Conversation, Amazing Workplace will support Garnet Health as they analyze results, celebrate successful areas, and develop an action plan that works for areas that need improvement. They’ll keep their exceptional people updated as the Conversation progresses.
